Bring Cailtlin's Law to Vic
Proposal Summary
"Caitlin's Law" in New South Wales aims to stop individuals with a history of sexual violence or family violence from being automatically recognized as the next of kin.
A perpetrator of family or sexual violence becoming next of kin and controlling their victims' funeral or assets is a terrible injustice and traumatising for surviving family and friends. Caitlin's law should be introduced in Victoria and include cases of sexual extortion and technology-facilitated sexual violence.
